We couldn't do our work without the generous support of our donors. As an all-volunteer group, everything we are given — from underwear to money — goes right back to women on the street.
(Not to imply we give them the money. Although, there is some evidence that giving straight-up cash actually helps people on the street realize their dreams)
Our biggest needs today
Women on the street need underwear — aka panties — because, to be frank, if they only have one pair and can't wash it due to the lack of running water, infections become more likely. The main sizes needed are small, medium and large. And the favorite cut is boy shorts.
Pads and tampons
We are the only organization that drives up to women on the street and gives them as many pads, tampons and menstrual cups as they need. Because, as all women know, our periods are crazy beasts that come whenever the hell they want and stay for as long as they like.
Dental health is hard to keep up with access to running water, so toothbrushes — and other teeth-maintenance items — are essential.
The complete donation list
UNFORTUNATELY WE CANNOT TAKE:
Clothing (other than socks or underwear)
Shoes (other than flip-flops and slippers)
Since we are an all-volunteer nonprofit, 100% of all monetary donations go directly to help women on the street.
Credit and debit cards can be used to make donations by clicking the "SEND" button at PayPal.Me/asurnewmexico
Note: We often get asked if we use Venmo, but unfortunately, at this time, they have chosen to work with just a few select nonprofits as part of a beta test. We will join them as soon as they have a process for other nonprofits.
If you would like to mail us a donation — either a check or supplies — you can send it to:

Additional info about donations
We aren't a federally recognized 501(c)(3) yet.
But when we become one, let us know If you need a copy of the letter from the IRS confirming our tax exempt status and our Employer Identification Number.
Also, if a donation amount is more than $250, we are happy to provide you with a "contemporaneous written acknowledgment" letter, which is required by the IRS if you wish to take a tax deduction.
But, to reiterate, we can't provide either of these if the donation is made before we become a 501(c)(3).
